Simultaneous translation with representativeness \u2013 diversity and female empowerment In the first quarter of 2021, MIT+ promoted meetings on the theme of female inclusion and diversity with the participation of South African actress and performer Ntando Cele, philosopher Denise Ferreira da Silva and dancer Jacqueline<\/p>\n
This event was followed by the interactive workshop Resid\u00eancia Inter Pretas, also with the participation of Ntando Cele, aimed at women artists and activists, especially non-white women, interested in working with real stories. Artistic practice and empowerment strategies and the proposal of a non-violent space for \u201ccollective dreams\u201d was the tone given to the meetings. The event featured group activities and individual conversations, with the support of simultaneous translation.<\/p>\n
In both cases, the organizer made a specific requirement \u2013 \u200b\u200bto have the participation of a black interpreter among the professionals hired to do the simultaneous translation, to ensure diversity in the team.
